My husband always jokes that we didn't move to South Carolina to open a dog food company, we moved here to retire. Why then does he work harder now than he ever has before? The easy answer is because I told him he had to, but the real answer is passion. We have always believed in a natural diet for our animals and seeing so many dogs down here suffering from skin allergies, hotspots, and far worse challenges (cancer, pancreatitis, etc.) we felt that we had to help.
Lucky Dog Cuisine was born, not to be the best dog food on the market, but to help the most dogs possible. You already know that we use only humanely raised grass fed beef, fresh turkey and real cheeses and yogurts but what we are most proud of is why we do it. I honestly believe that every time a dog switches to Lucky Dog it improves both the quality of life and hopefully the lifespan of that animal. It has been said that to experience true joy in life you should make your avocation your vocation. In simpler terms, do what you love.
I love dogs! I love all animals in general, but dogs in particular. A dog is the ultimate in unconditional love. When I walk into a room and see one of my dogs look up at me, my heart melts. They help me through the difficult times and they encourage me to enjoy the good times even more. If I am to leave a legacy on this planet, let it be the fact that I helped dogs even a fraction as much as they helped me.
Lucky Dog Cuisine is truly a labor of love and has been totally driven by passion. In this, our first blog on our new website, I would like to thank all of our incredibly loyal customers that have shown me over and over again, that as much as I love animals there are others out there who love them just as much.
So, to my husband, who I also love although maybe not quite as much as the dogs, (just kidding dear) I give you my blessing, you can retire. Right after we get all the dogs in the USA eating "whole natural foods" as at least a part of their everyday diet! It sounds fair to me!
